Connect asset operational data with carbon emissions tracking to automate sustainability reporting
Integrated Sustainability Data Management with EAM
Dynaway Sustainability App helps asset-intensive organizations track and report CO₂ and environmental impact directly from operational data. Fully embedded in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and built upon Dynaway EAM asset and maintenance solutions, the module uses asset counters to calculate emissions and support ESG reporting and compliance.
Reuse operational data for ESG goals - from maintenance towards sustainability
Building on Dynaway’s EAM foundation, the Sustainability module allows to assign a Sustainability Account directly to each Counter Setup. Counters are used to register activity-based data like:
- Kilometers driven
- Liters of fuel consumed
- kWh of electricity used
Each counter can be linked to a Sustainability Account, forming the basis for CO₂ equivalent calculations.
Track, store, and report environmental data without leaving Business Central
The Dynaway Sustainability App enables you to retrieve Counter Entries such as fuel consumption, mileage, energy use, and transfer them into sustainability journal. The system will be then able to generate sustainability journal lines to calculate CO2 emissions that are tracked at the source and stored natively within your EAM.
Key Benefits
- Enables structured emissions tracking directly within EAM
- Centralizes data collection by eliminating data silos
- Translates asset data into actionable insight
- Supports period-based reporting
- Complies with emerging sustainability reporting standards
- Leverages already existing production or operational data (e.g., mileage, energy, fuel consumption)
This empowers asset-intensive companies to move from manual tracking (e.g., Excel sheets) to integrated, auditable, and scalable sustainability reporting.
The workflow consists of:
- A new column, Sustainability Account Number, is introduced for emissions tracking on the Counter Setup
- Counters capture data like kilometers driven, energy usage, hours of operation, etc.
- Through the Sustainability Journal, data is matched to the relevant account
- Users can pull all entries into one document and filter by specific date ranges
- The system uses counter data and emission factors to:
- Categorize emissions (e.g., CO₂ equivalents)
- Calculate outputs
- Post to accounting record
